- I learned a lot during my time here. Although I only worked a few days a week because of my class schedule while attending Appalachian State, the procedure of translating and rotating 'look points' made the whole process of surveying a lot more enjoyable because the angles and distances of various pieces of property on plats and deeds 'clicked' with me.
- Research on the documentation of a property corner was also beneficial in the research process and the boundary survey, which is extremely important to the final product. This was proven accurate by returning to the oldest deed or plat and seeing if the original documentation was still present. Observing clues, such as old fences and tree lines, also helped the procedure.
