SDSMT Extracurricular Activities
STEAM – Members participate using their creativity to explore the artistic side of materials science. This includes working with metal clay, glass blowing, casting, engraving, and more with an emphasis of safety. College Democrats - The purpose of this organization is to allow all interested students to engage in political discourse on campus and elsewhere, to allow those students to express their opinions freely, and to organize in local government. Math Team Member 2017-19 - Team won second place in division tournament and was invited to participate in the state tournament. First Robotics Team Member 2017-2019 - Member of mechanical division on High School Team and mentor to the elementary school team. Ambassador 2016-2019 - Involved in planning events for the school, socializing with people at the events and making them comfortable. Chess Team Member 2015-2016 – First place in ERA school tournament Spanish Club Member 2017-2018 Solar Vehicle Project Mechanics Team: Use CAD to design mechanical parts for the car and use equipment such as laser cutters, water jet cutters and lathes to manufacture these parts from basic metal bars and sheets.
