FARM MANAGER
FENN FARMS
Clayton, AL.

My father’s health unexpectedly failed too late in the year to rent the farm out, so I went home to make a crop. I managed 185 brood cows and 50 eating calves for butcher, 285 irrigated acres of peanuts, 50 acres of irrigated bahia, 70 acres of non-irrigated bahia grass for seed and hay, 4 center pivot irrigation systems, as well as many tractors and a grain combine. I am not an electrician but keep all of our stuff running from regular single phase to 3 phase 480 volt current. We run mostly older equipment so I mechanic daily and am highly skilled at it. I have experience running equipment ranging from 1976 4030 to a 3/4 million dollar cotton picker.

COMBINE OPERATOR/FARMER
COOPER FARMS
Clayton, AL.
02.2016 - 10.2017
After shutting down my own farming operation, I was hired at Cooper Farms based on my custom combining skills, the relationships I had built with my customers over many years, and my wealth of knowledge of farm operations, crops, and equipment. In addition to running the combine operation, I operated tractor equipment of all sizes as well as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, service trucks, and semi-trucks and trailers. I performed routine- and emergency- repairs, worked cattle, and regularly advised the owner on crop and cattle decisions.
OWNER/OPERATOR
FENN FARMS AND CLAYTON FARM SUPPLY
Clayton, AL.
01.2004 - 02.2016
I left college early to farm with my father and launch my own farm operation. I started with only a dozen cows and over the years grew to seventy-eight mama cows, a combine, multiple tractors, semi-trucks, and other farm equipment. I am highly skilled in combining Tifton 9 Bahia seed and have combined over 20,000 acres myself. In addition to being the owner and operator, I was also the one and only mechanic and regularly performed preventative as well as emergency repairs. I opened a farm and seed supply store where I was responsible for cleaning, bagging, and storing other farmers’ seed. This process involved sending seed samples off for testing, brokering deals between farmers and seed buyers, and the everyday maintenance of a seed cleaning factory.
