- On the surface, this position might not seem all that important to my development, but I would say that this is where I first learned how to advertise myself, and even with all my time in SMU advertising classes, that is something that I have yet to learn in the classroom.

- Over the course of two summers, I worked at MHI Homebuilder (now Coventry Homes) as a construction then purchasing clerk
- During my time there I learned the characteristics required to be a part of a large and fast-moving team and the mindset that you have to carry to thrive in a group setting
- Learning the ins and outs of the company was a challenging yet rewarding experience with experiences that I will take with me into whatever job I tackle next.
THE SUMMER INSTITUTE AT PRESBYTERIAN SCHOOL

- To go back and help my former middle school coaches help kids from underprivileged neighborhoods in the city as an assistant PE coach and operations assistant opened my eyes to the world around me
- Producing promotional material for the school and setting up events for the kids were important aspects of this job and as the years went by my position shifted from less of a coach and more of a part of the team keeping the small summer school running
- I have learned so much from working with those kids and there is nothing I would have rather done with my summers than be a part of that community.
CHURCH YOUTH GROUP
- I have been a part of the youth group at my church for as long as I can remember and only just recently have been able to achieve a leadership position as a counselor for trips that the group has undertaken
- It has been a great pleasure to help my peers at that church and I have learned a lot from doing so.
