  • Tracked progress on projects to include training programs and modules, reference materials and checklists used in the various development for claims adjudication and provided timely feedback to staff members and upper management.
  • Directed and supervised team of 18 employees in daily operations of mentoring various grade levels of non-journey level Claims Examiners.
  • Developed and implemented operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy of workflows to include review of Claims Examiner work products in addition to the .review, analyzing, formatting and drafting reopening documents to include Director's Orders, Denial of Reopenings and National Office Memos.
  • Maintained accurate records of employee performance, attendance, leave requests, and disciplinary actions.
  • Mediated and resolved conflict resolution when there were disparities between Claims Examiner Specialists and their assigned mentees and/or mentees supervisor.
  • Coordinated and directed the curriculum for New Claims Examiner Training to include creating, updating and facilitating a six week training program which includes classroom as well as a three week Mock Unit "Hands on Training" exercise for new Claims Examiners to apply their classroom training. This includes the various stages and work products in the adjudication of DEEOIC claims. In FY2023 this included the training of 55 new Claims Examiners.
  • Evaluated employee (CES) performance regularly through monthly and periodic reviews and documented results accordingly. These performance results and observations were shared with my employees through regular feedback sessions and provided opportunities to discuss and offer coaching strategies to develop and enhance thier mentoring skills.
  • Maintained positive working relationship with fellow staff in Staff Education and Mentoring Unit (SEAM), National Field Operations, National Office and four District Offices.
  • Regularly evaluate the working relationships between Claims Examiner Specialist (CES), their assigned Claims Examiners and the Claims Examiner Supervisor in the development and coaching of the Claims Examiners in the progression of them attaining full performance journey level. This evaluation provides opportunities to develop and enhance the CES mentoring and coaching skills and techniques.
  • Collaborated on the creation of unit procedures and documents to include the EEOICPA SEAM Field Guide, Monthly Claims Examiner Summary (MCES), New Claims Examiner Specialist Training Plan, reopening samples and templates.
  • Collaborated with National Field Operations, National Office and District Offices to coordinate centralized workflow processes in addition to consistency and uniformity of claims adjudication work products and training materials.
  • Provided ongoing training to Claims Examiner Specialist when policies, procedures and office guidance is implemented and/or updated.
  • Coached staff members to develop mentoring and management skills for their long-term career goals. This has resulted in the promotion of seven direct report staff members since the inception of the SEAM Unit.
  • Participated in the Interviewing, recommendation, and hiring of applicants for the Claims Examiner positions.
