Job overview

  • Research Project: Developing a Griess-like assay for M2 macrophage phenotype characterization. Using Sq-650-pH dye to label BSA, differences in phagosomal pH were used to confirm phenotypes.
  • Research Project: Using pH and ROS sensing dyes coated on Si-Au nanorods for photoacoustic imaging. Using a combination of two 'opposing' markers, we were able to use photoacoustic imaging to differentiate macrophage phenotypes via changes in ROS and pH.
  • Research Project: Studying how PS-coated polymeric nanoparticles affect macrophage phenotype and inflammation. Particles that were stiff and had PS were taken up by macrophages significantly more than other NP combinations and showed less M1 polarization.
