While performing the role of Manager responsible for staff and for environmental permitting and compliance efforts for all FERC natural gas expansion and blanket projects in the United States, I also maintained some of my previous responsibilities as a Supervisor for certain projects and as a hands-on Project Manager for a smaller number of select projects. Wearing the three hats resulted in carrying the job responsibilities of all three positions to varying degrees. As such, in addition to carrying those accountabilities:

• Led geographically dispersed team to achieve results for business, removing barriers to ensure execution of compliance improvement initiatives.
• Led Environment team that supports diverse workload of projects and programs for natural gas system.
• Environment expert support for additional $3B in projects that have reached various stages of design, permitting, and execution.
• Collaborate with numerous project stakeholders to drive business results and ensure cost, scope, schedule are maintained
• Evaluated risks and opportunities for potential projects identified by Business Development and Project Development.
• Prepared and recommended long-range development plans for department staff.
• Onboarded new employees with training and new hire documentation.
• Worked with peer staff to compile data highlighting key metrics to report information, determine trends and identify methods for improving results.
• Collaborated with permitting staff, inspection staff, and consultants to identify cost-saving measures.
• Provided analysis and direction for annual CapEx and OpEx budgets for Environment.
• Was accountable for performance of full time staff, contract staff and over 20 environmental coordinators and inspectors placed from Texas to Maine. Provide goal setting, coaching and feedback, and annual performance reviews.
• Collaborated and engaged with colleagues across disciplines including Business Development, Engineering, Construction, Lands/ROW, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Indigenous Engagement and Community Engagement.
• Extensive experience engaging internal and external stakeholders including company executives, local, state, federal agencies, and elected officials.
• Direct work of external consultants in biological, cultural, and related resources surveys to support development of due diligence initiatives and permit applications to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including NEPA, CWA, ESA, NHPA, and MBTA.

• Manage environmental planning, permitting, agency consultations, preparation of environmental documents, and environmental compliance program for a diverse range of projects including expansion projects regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) under Section 7 of the Natural Gas Act, blanket certificate projects, due diligence reviews of routine maintenance activities and other projects.
• Responsibilities include scope, schedule and budget development during initial project planning; management of consultants and company personnel; project management over all environmental activities during the project lifecycle; and coordination with a wide range of disciplines to achieve repeated success.
• Manage the personnel administration and development of assigned staff. As a leader, communication with staff is focused on coaching, mentoring, motivating and implementing organizational objectives.
• Monitor project compliance with environmental permits and conditions during construction and ensure post-construction environmental permit compliance.
• Recognize that pollution prevention, biodiversity and resource conservation are key to a sustainable environment, and effectively integrate these concepts into business decision-making.
• Worked with internal stakeholders on project development initiatives and to ensure environmental compliance with all permit obligations before, during and after project execution and construction.

• Responsible for overseeing preparation of federal, state and local permit/license applications and, through consultant support, coordination and management of field studies including cultural resources, wetland delineation, noise, and threatened, rare and endangered species surveys.
• Responsible for expansion and operations/maintenance projects in northeast, mid-atlantic, and parts of great lakes and south regions.
• Responsibilities also include regulatory/resource agency consultation, corridor/route selection, environmental inspection, post-construction monitoring, mitigation planning, public participation and construction compliance management.
• Functioned as company-agency liaison, managed contractors, and participated in presentations at agency meetings and public hearings and public meetings.
• Highlight expansion projects: TIME II Project, TEMAX/TIME III Projects, TEAM 2012 Project, TEAM 2014 Project, and OPEN Project.

• Coordinated and managed cultural resource management efforts on wide variety of energy/utility-related projects, including oversight of historical architectural surveys, archaeological field surveys, evaluations and data recoveries, report preparation, construction monitoring, and mitigation implementation.
• Managed projects from design to post-construction.
• Managed contacts at applicable state historic preservation offices and with native american tribes, and worked closely with FERC project managers and coordinated all FERC NHPA application components.
• Developed skills to deal with fast-paced environments and oft-changing project scopes.
