TITLE 19 EXPERIENCE
While working at TSTC Waco, I was appointed as Title 19 director/coordinator when title 19 first initiated. I set up TSTC's initial program and served as student disciplinary officer and chair of our title 19 committee. I reported directly to the president during the first 5 years of our program we chaired over 30-40 grievances and settled many more. I implemented both faculty, staff and student education programs which were a great success. I did this at a time I was serving special duty as assistant to dean of student services DR, Ben Youner and DR. Tom Liston. I also did extensive training for the other 4 TSTC campuses and assisted them setting up their title 19 programs.
BECOMING A MASTER STUDENT PROGRAM
While working with the counseling office for 3 years, I was charged with the responsibility to increase student retention. I developed a program, taught in it and managed the program until 2018. The program is still a required course at TSTC. It called “Becoming a Master Student” and involves education and counseling for all students in-study skills-financial skills-health education and success at college skills. It won several national awards for large program and was adopted by 4 other schools/campuses. As part of the program we also taught job and job interview skills.
