I am a hard worker and put forth effort into all that I do. I strive to become a better provider, instructor, colleague, and person in any way, shape, or form. I make it my goal to improve my education and knowledge base to become the best I possibly can in my areas of work.
I worked as an EMT-B for the ambulance company servicing Loyola hospitals. Here, I learned skills such as report writing and patient interaction, as most calls are non-emergency and patients are stabilized. Working on a private ambulance allowed me to gain experience that helped me pursue my paramedic education and build a foundation for my future.
Working on a critical care ambulance has allowed me to learn and see what happens after a patient is dropped off from the prehospital environment and treatment is performed in the emergency room. In this setting, hospital-to-hospital transports take place in the Chicago area. I have gained exposure to equipment such as ventilators and IV pumps.
On the days I am not at work on the ambulance, I have helped out in the classroom with the EMT-B and Paramedic classes, specifically on practical instruction days. Teaching is something I enjoy, and I consistently strive to be a better instructor and to learn as much as I can to maximize student success.
