  • Operational Duties/Responsibilities/Accomplishments: - Served as a firefighter for a type 3 engine in the Kaibab National Forest. - On an organized team during planned burns, I worked as a skilled wildland firefighter, monitoring and controlling the fire and collecting data on fire weather and fire behavior. - Assist with day to day operations of the fire shop, including prioritizing projects and managing time to meet district goals and targets. - Assist with project work supporting ecosystem management, including prescribed fire, hazard fuel reduction, and fires managed under strategies other than total suppression. - Ensure fire vehicles and fire equipment are kept in a complete state of readiness for emergency dispatch. - Determines the safest and most effective suppression tactics for wildfires in multiple fuel types during fire assignments. - Served as a FireFighter Type 2 during off-forest assignments during critical fire danger in various fuel types in the United States on engines. - Assisted with engine operations during a dynamic and fast-moving fire across multiple fuel types around the wildland-urban interface and critical values at risk. - Scout, prepare, and evaluate control lines to be used on multiple prescribed fires near the wildland-urban interface by thinning, building a hand line, and removing heavies from the control line. - Responsible for the safe operation of fire vehicles while responding to wildland fires, all risk hazard activities, and other fuels related to ecosystem restoration projects. - Provides continuing fire prevention information and education training to internal/external customers.
