Designer for Extension and Tip

• Designed, parted out, and assembled three iterations of a cartridge-based tip growing robot intended for use in colonoscopies
• Used Solidworks to create full drawings of all of machined parts.
• Wrote up detailed operation manuals, and cataloged pitfalls we ran into during testing to help our end-user with future modifications

Linac Coherent Light Source - II:

• Designed and manufactured 2 laser safety devices that shrouded the optical laser beam as it passed between Beam Modification Boxes (TILES)
• Designed 2 methods for mounting position sensors within each TILE
• Developed a lifting fixture that allowed TILES in tight spaces to be removed vertically
• Designed a bumper and prop system to ease TILE maintenance

• Modified track prototypes to aid optical sensors during flight
• Created a test rig to allow testing of optical sensors without flying
• Built mechanisms that catch the bogie at both ends of the track
• Acquired and analyzed data on the effectiveness of optical sensors during flight
