Before achieving Eagle Scout, one of the requirements is to lead a conservation project in a environmental setting. My project was at a nature preserve. The project was at a along trail near a delta which was very dangerous due to how close the trail was near the waters edge that was 10 to 11 feet high. A group of scouts and I redirected the trail at a relatively close distance from the waters edge and also including 48x60in barbed wired fences to make sure to people to know not to come close. Further up this trail, another task was to place in 3 signposts that were 6 feet in length , and had to be put in deep into the ground for to withstand nature caus . Another task to this was to create a bridge that was made out of wood, and it was 8 feet long, 5 feet wide thorough a swampy strip of the trail. The project took about 6-7 hours to complete, . Through the process of accomplishing the project I demonstrated leadership to make this possible, and to the owner of the preserve a win for the books.
