I was offered the chance to go to this children's camp as an LIT (Leader-in-Training). This was a program at the camp that for the whole week at summer camp, I was given leadership training and development of setting up camp activities. Along with fellow teens, we had workshops to help with our leadership training to help the younger kids have a fun time.
Poway High School wanted to open an Alumni Museum for those who have already graduated from Poway High and have gone off to do great things. Through my AVID teacher, she saw that me along with my friends were deemed fit to help the school set up this club through AVID, and we helped set up funds to open the museum. I was deemed the Secretary of the club as I arranged the meetings and would record the minutes of our club's process.
I volunteered monthly to help prepare food, serve food, and cleaned up at a large kitchen at the Ronald McDonald House. Tasks varied monthly, but I liked to help in the kitchen with cutting vegetables, making dessert, and running the commercial dishwashers. I did all this with the Church at Rancho Bernardo to go down to the Ronald McDonald House to help serve food to families in need.
