since november i went back underground to operate a shuttle car full time on #4 section
I was hired in to be in maintenance and done so for a short peroid of time before i was asked to fill in on a shuttle car.
operated a shuttle car for a few months until they hired a fill in.i was then asked to go outside and dispatch and be a parts purchaser.
because of my years of being in maintenance they new i had the knowledge to know what parts that they needed when they were called out.
this included looking up parts in proper manuals.getting part numbers and going through the suppliers to get the parts order properly and efficiently.
I left their for arch coal job due to quinwood failing and getting ready to shut down

when not driving a truck i would be placed in the paper mill in covington va operated dump trucks,loaders,excavators and roll off truck for dumpsters.
Left this job to go back in the mines at quinwood coal that was only a few miles from where i live,not in another state as well as pay being alot better.

I took this job only because i needed health insurance for my family while being laid off from the mines during covid.I quit this job as soon as a better paying job had come along
was hired in for this job to be back in maintenance and done so for a couple months until the head cooperate chief electrician made it a rule that to be in maintenance you had to be certified and i was not,
they then offered me a job as a scoop operator and done this job until the mine closed due to covid related thing.

Started my coal mining career at this mine as a red hat in 2007 as a red hat when I started the slope was 50' in and we drove it all the way to the 1700' mark and got on coal in 2008.
I was selected to get into maintenance program and be apprentice electrician.Unfortunately was not able to pass the state electrical test but was able to remain in maintenance for the remainder of the the mines life.(7 years)
The mine shut down in 2015 when the coal market crashed
