Mechanic

My current employer is a contracted shop for the United States Postal Service, and does not currently offer work to the general public. My duties currently include:

  • Inspection of fleet vehicles for general maintenance and repair. This includes all worn, leaking, or defective components.
  • Performing basic fleet services including troubleshooting, replacing, or repairing all worn components in the vehicle. This includes suspension, braking, engine, cooling, electrical, fuel, transmission, and interior components.
  • Performing electrical diagnosis on all of the vehicles systems.
  • Roadside assistance and repair.
  • Diagnosing engine issues including ignition and timing.
  • Replacing frames on vehicles that require it.

Photography Installer

Turn 5 is the parent company to several brands, this includes American Muscle, American Trucks, and Extreme Terrain. They are a retailer for aftermarket parts, and I worked in the photography department as a product installer for the website. This position included the following duties:

  • Clean and detail the company vehicles in order to prepare them for photographing for website products.
  • Remove the factory components from the vehicles, and install the aftermarket parts. This includes exterior panels and badges, as well as interior components.
  • Move and position the vehicles in order to achieve the appropriate angles. This includes knowing how to drive a manual transmission.
  • Adjust lighting in order to achieve adequate photographs.
  • Maintain a clean work space, especially within the photobooth.
  • Pull and maintain a parts inventory, and keep accurate work logs.

Automotive Technician

MMCO Auto Audi

MMCO was the management company behind Audi Conshohocken, Audi West Chester, and Audi Wynnewood. I served many duties with this company, and worked my way up the ladder from lot guy/dealer trade driver to primary engine technician. I worked at several locations as I worked my way up that ladder. My duties at Audi Conshohocken included:

  • Rearrange and maintain the parking lot and dealer space. This included customer vehicles for service, as well as new/preowned vehicles for sales.
  • Drive vehicles for dealer trades for the sales department, test drive customer vehicles for service, and transport customers to and from the dealership.
  • Wash customer vehicles for the service department.
  • Detail vehicles for the sales department.
  • Maintain the shop space and assure that it was presentable and profession, befitting a luxury car service center.
  • Perform basic maintenance including oil changes, service light resets, replacing brakes and tires, alignments.
  • Assisting senior technicians with work as needed.


I was then moved to Audi West Chester, and promoted to a flat rate technician. This happened in 2015, and I was one of the 3 technicians in service when the dealership opened. My duties and skills here included:

  • Full multi-point inspections on customer vehicles.
  • Maintenance on vehicles ranging from manufacturer services to replacing defective, broken or worn parts.
  • Electrical and mechanical diagnosis on all systems in the vehicle.
  • Diagnosing fault codes in vehicles using manufacturer specific scan tools.
  • Replacing and programming defective modules.
  • Performing Pennsylvania State safety and emissions inspection.
  • Attending manufacturer specific training. This includes brand awareness, introductory vehicle diagnosis, electrical diagnosis and repair, and specialized engine diagnosis.


In 2016 i showed interest in specializing engine repair. I was sent to a class that specialized in this, and was moved to the Wynnewood dealership to be the engine specialist for the dealer group. These duties included:

  • Diagnosis of engine issues, in particular oil consumption, timing, turbo systems, fuel, cooling, and cylinder head diagnosis.
  • Removing and rebuilding engines due to timing failure, catastrophic failure, and oil consumption. This ranged from complete tear down and rebuild, short/long block replacement, cylinder head replacement, and occasional cylinder head rebuild.
  • Air conditioning system servicing.
  • Engine electrical diagnosis.
  • Engine duties aside, I also performed all normal tasks a dealer tech would normally take part in, as covered by my time with Audi West Chester.
