I am a retired K9 Police Officer from North Carolina with extensive training in K9 handling and instruction of new and existing K9s and their handlers to be. I started out as a K9 handler as a deputy sheriff then as a city police officer. But when I was hired as a NC Alcohol Law Enforcement agent it became clear to me that we were an agency in dire need of K9 friends and we did not have them nor the resources to obtain, train, house or transport our K9 cops.
In infancy along with with 3 other agents we started our journey to start that NCALE K9 corps and shortly after legislature funding. I became the director of that corps until my retirement. I am also very proud of my families business, initially farming with working horses and dogs but somehow ended up being a family business in the electronic pet containment world. Starting out as Pet Safe product installer and trainer for customers who requested our services. Then being asked to join PetSafe Pro dealer network. This led to us too franchising as an Invisible Fence Brand* and eventually Invisible Fence Brand* by PetSafe dealer for a little over 18 years. Then joining the PetStop Brand in 2018 till 2024 in which I sold the business and our home in Fayetteville NC to follow my wife's work as a doctor with the VA Medical Center here at the clinics in Greenville and Anderson SC where I am currently a trainer with Petsmart. My goal in my retirement was to provide training to people who could not necessarily pay for my private services and I had no interest in starting another business. Just want to do want I love and feel I am best suited and gratified from, training dogs and hopefully their peeps

I along with three other agents sought certification for our agency that never had its own corps. Which required the above certifications along with legislature proposals, political committee requisition, testimony and funding. Once funding was achieved I began the search for suitable rescue dogs along with assessing new pups for our newly created corps. Then the assessing of the collection of dogs for certain tasks needed by the agency moving into training and assessing the application of other agents within the agency seeking handling certification with priority going to existing certified K9 Handlers within the agency and district office needs
