Greetings,

My name is William Thompson. I go by Bill. I am submitting an application to work at Discount Tire in Hinesville, Georgia, beginning in the spring of 2026. For 5.5 years, I served active duty in the United States Army as an indirect fire infantryman, otherwise known as a "Mortarman", or "Mortar" for short. Upon beginning my transition back into the civilian world, I began prioritizing a career field that both fuels my passion and provides assets in more ways than one to the work place. A little over a year ago, taking pride in tasks that I completed myself, ultimately taking care of my own vehicle that serves as my primary method of transportation, and because manual labor in any capacity is what I love, and as the saying goes, "When you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.” Why am I applying to work here when I get out? Because when I am employed in a profession at a workplace where I am excited to go to work in the morning, I truly believe that positive energy can and will feed off to the rest of my co-workers, seniors, supervisors, and customers alike, creating an establishment where everyone looks forward to coming to. I am the type of person who wants to make every environment in which I enter as enjoyable as possible, while accomplishing as much as possible in a day's work.
