NCDOT- Walnut Cove Bridge Maintenance.

I have working knowledge of standard bridge maintenance and construction procedures such as deck sweeping, drift removal, approach slab repair, beam repairs etc.,from my time with Walnut Cove Bridge.

I have demonstrated the ability to supervise and train others in safe and proper equipment operation to newly hired employees and have directed the daily activities of a crew in the absence of a TS I or TS II or if an additional project required another crew leader.

I have experience in the maintenance and installation of erosion control devices while performing work on small or large diameter pipe repair or replacements. The use of matting, straw and various type of aggregate stone are examples of erosion control devices used by the bridge department.

My experience and knowledge of work zone safety and NCDOT workplace safety policy and practices comes from certification in Basic and Intermediate work zone training, setting up/laying out lane closures on Interstate, Primary and Secondary roads with two and multi-lanes, conducting flagging operations, and setting up traffic cones, message signs and utilizing automatic flagger. Daily tailgate safety meetings and monthly safety meetings provide valuable information to myself and co-workers.
