  • Maintain daily operations of the Safe Haven and act as “second in command” to the Program Director during hours of operation. Function in role of primary manager of the facility in the absence of the program director; consulting with the Area Director or Assistant VP as necessary.
  • Directly supervise front desk and direct care/safety staff, Program Aides on your shift. Communicate with Managers and other Shift Supervisor between shifts.
  • Coordinate and assist with on-site Crisis intervention. Be available for staff of other shifts to provide advice and assistance with crisis intervention when on site.
  • Maintain status as a Licensed Fire Coordinator (F-80) and ensure that all other staff obtain either an F80 or F-02 (Fire Guard) Certificate of Fitness if needed. Assure a full complement of Fire Safety staff, First Aid/CPR and Food Service staff to ensure coverage across shifts.
  • Manage CARES reporting to the NYC Department of Homeless Services. You must document all engagement via AWARDS as well.
  • Review the visitor logbook and safety logbook for quality assurance.
  • Attending staff meetings, supervision and training as required.
  • While performing functions, must be able to interact with the client population in a polite and professional manner while maintaining personal boundaries. Must be able to and being able to accept our resident’s behavior and maintain composure during crisis situations and/or engage individuals who may present behavioral issues.
