I have always loved the ocean growing up: the Baltimore National Aquarium has been a safe space for me throughout the years. As a child and young adult, I spent a lot of time learning how to identify saltwater creatures by markings alone. I received my Junior Open Water Diving Certificate in 2013 and plan on re-certifying to an Open Water Diving Certificate now that I am over 15. In high school, Before the pandemic, I was working with the pacific octopus handler in the Baltimore National Aquarium to observe the octopus's behaviors and care as a project to graduate (this was not completed due to restrictions). Being able to be surrounded by the place and animals that I love would be an unbelievable experience.
