Beadwork, Sewing, Cheyenne Language

I do a lot of traditional Cheyenne style beadwork as well as contemporary pieces. I not only bead for my daughter but for other family and friends as well. Our beadwork keeps our cultural alive wether it be in the dance/powwow arena or in our own ceremonies.

I sew some of our traditional Cheyenne Arapaho style dresses and am learning more detailed applique sewing techniques.

I try to use my Cheyenne language as much as i can within my daily activities with my own daughter and other family members. I have picked up some Arapaho Language and use that as well.

While working with the tribal students in the public school setting. i was able to teach the Star Spangled Banner in the Cheyenne Language. It made using our language easy and fun to remember.
