Work History

Crew Member

Daylight Glass
Morgan
12.2024 - Current

This was my second blue-collar job. At this job, we are professional window installers. We are based out of Morgan, but work all over, from Salt Lake City to Park City, UT. Doing this job has taught me more about how construction sites are run, both residential and commercial. I have had the opportunity to work on homes all over the northern half of Utah, as well as St. George. Some of these homes include remodeled homes and 25-million-dollar new build homes in Park City, along with ski resorts in Park City. Working this job, I learned how to talk with contractors, follow house plans, build all sorts of scaffolding, use heavy machinery, and install window packages from them, getting ordered to fully complete the job. I've learned how to be a dependable crew member, along with how to work with homeowners and contractors to complete jobs. This kind of work has expanded my hobbies and interests to include building things for my own home, working on cars, heavy machines, and more.

Sales Representative

Vivint
04.2025 - 09.2025

This was my first sales job, which is something I want to continue to pursue. I went out for this summer sales job to sell Vivint home security. This was, by far, the hardest summer of my life and the hardest job I have ever had. I learned so much doing door-to-door sales. We sold five-year contracts for five to eight thousand dollars per contract. Purely commission job, working 1099. This job made me move to California and Texas for the summer, selling door to door. I learned so many life skills by doing this kind of work. I learned some of the best people skills you can, along with how to run my own business, not rely on anyone but myself. I learned how to sell myself and a product to build value, and close a deal. I am currently going out in the summer of 2026 to sell pest control in Oregon to continue the sales experience.

Site Manager

Reed Haws
Wellsville
06.2023 - 11.2024

This was my first blue-collar job; I was working with my girlfriend's father, Reed. Reed is a general contractor who is building his dream home. This job was just him and me at his property with a backhoe and a skid steer. We broke ground on the site and spent 4 to 5 months just getting the location of his house ready to dig footers. Then laying footers, plumbing, framing, and concrete work. During this time, I learned some of the most substantial things I ever have. I learned how to self-operate, along with operating heavy machines, large trucks with trailers, and taking care of farm animals and running other crews of people. I was practically a ranch boy. This job taught me how to plan a house, from paper and blueprints to actually laying it out and digging footers. Ordering large loads of supplies, working with other crews of people, and directing them to get our work done.

Setup Lead

Davis Conference Center
Layton
12.2021 - 06.2023

While working at Burger Bar, I started working at this conference center as a setup crew member and banquet server. Along with that, I worked as a maintenance man for almost four months. During my time here, I learned many skills for many different departments, quickly. I learned great customer service skills, along with management skills. This was accomplished because of talking to clients.

Often, we discuss diagrams and paperwork, e.g., our BEO paperwork, that would specify what they would need from us for their events. As I worked there, we went through a few staff members, as well as managers. Naturally, when we were slacking on crew or general structure, I would always put myself in the manager position and assist my team members in getting our daily tasks accomplished. The hotel, along with the conference center, allowed me to grow as a person and an employee. It also equipped me with creative problem-solving skills. When working with maintenance, I learned lots of new things about simple repairs, along with more challenging ones. I would maintain hotel rooms and fix things as needed, along with some heavy machine operating. When working with the banquet, it was great to work on my people skills. I would have to serve our customers. We would do dinner, lunches, concession stands, etc. Lastly, I worked with our AV team, and I learned how to set up our rooms with things like mics, projectors screens, Wi-Fi etc.

Roy
06.2021 - 02.2022

I started at Burger Bar as my first job at 15. I enjoyed the environment and the people with whom I worked. They are family-owned, so working was always a good time. I stayed here for eight months while I was in high school and playing football. During that time, I learned quickly, and moved up fast. I worked as an order taker, making shakes, dressing burgers, and handing out the food. I then also started being what they call "the boys." This position had the most responsibility. We were in charge of all the cleaning, trash, counting the money at the end of the day, and locking up. The last three months working here, I started a second job.
