Volunteer and provide services to our local church, UM Army and GIFTS Camp.

Working as a volunteer at our church has been rewarding and has provided me with a better understanding of

Church Volunteering

While attending our local church, it has presented several rewarding opportunities for me to volunteer in. As a member of the Church Youth Group I participated and served in the UM Army Camp for several years helping rebuild homes, fences, and other miscellaneous jobs for the elderly and disabled community. This is a one week service project that is out of town and we stay in local churches for housing.

One of my passions is sports, and I was able to lead and coach a youth basketball team.  This was rewarding and allowed me to showcase my knowledge of the game and leadership and communication skills.  As the coach, I was in constant communication with players and parents with the team progress and weekly game schedule.

Another church volunteer opportunity was working with young children in GIFTS Camp, which is a summer camp with different classes for the students to participate in for a week.  I was a volunteer for the "Group Games" and assisted in setup and cleanup for each activity. I would also demonstrate how the games were played and helped students be successful and have fun.
