  • Managed and led American Spaces operations in the Philippines; from strategic planning and programs, funding/budget, resources, standards, personnel management, training, evaluation, communications, and partnerships.

  • Strategic planning, directing, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and services at the American Center and all American Corners.
  • Guidance, direction, performance review, and training plan of U.S. Embassy staff at the American Center.
  • Guidance, direction, performance evaluation of all ACs, makes decisions and recommendations on training needs, partnership agreements and approaches to handling problematic spaces and designated staff.
  • Produce, review and approve all digital and printed reports, press releases, articles, media engagements, and social media products/materials.
  • Building and maintaining external partnerships with the government, organizations, communities, and leaders in the private and public sector for programs.
  • Request, manage, and monitor the entire annual American Spaces Philippines budget. Reports fiscal year obligations and spending to the Office of American Spaces in Washington.
  • Report, coordinates, and makes critical decisions in consultation with the Deputy Public Engagement Attache, Regional Public Engagement Specialist, and other high level U.S. Embassy officials as necessary.
  • Leads ad hoc teams and committees for high level visitors from the White House and Department of State.
  • With 130 out of 100 points as performance evaluation, which is above and beyond the expected effective performance, consistently adding value in terms of quality and level of output.

    Innovating in times of crisis

  • Strong strategies and collaborations during the COVID-19 pandemic produced a record number of sixty-four virtual programs organized between March and December 2020 with more than 1.1 Million individuals reached via Facebook streaming and 11,386 via Zoom.
  • In 2020, trained more then 900 Covid-19 contact tracing volunteers through a 3-day Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Camp in partnership with Johns Hopkins University, the local government of Iligan City, and the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases; to strengthen the city's ability to carry out effective contact tracing at a time when significant increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the region has forced Iligan City to return to the strictest level of community quarantine.
  • In 2022, trained 984 "Covid Vaccine Ambassadors" through a 3-day Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Campin partnership with Peace Corps Philippines, USAID Philippines, American Corners, and Johns Hopkins University; to address vaccine hesitancy, counter vaccine misinformation, and increase Covid-19 vaccination rates for the pediatric age of 5-11 years old.

  • Strengthening program impact through regional collaboration

  • Expanded virtual programs across South East Asia and as far as India with Zoom and Facebook live events on countering misinformation, building community and leadership during the pandemic, marine environment conservation, migration, U.S. elections, and digital economy which garnered more than 193,000 collective views via Facebook streaming.

  • Social media year-in-review (2020) performance

  • In 2020, a 12-month data reveals that American Spaces Philippines social media followers increased by 10,000 or five times the rate in 2019. Social media engagement increased by 130 percent.

  • Increasing women participation in the economy

  • American Spaces Philippines ran the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in multiple locations in Bacolod, Marawi, Manila, and Cebu. AWE directly supports the U.S. National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality. At a local level, AWE harnesses the power of public-private sponsors, local partnerships and U.S. Exchange Alumni networks to help women and their businesses grow, driving localized prosperity in communities in more than 80 countries worldwide.

  • Expanding reach and strategic partnership

  • Despite the challenges of the pandemic, American Spaces Philippines network expanded to fifteen American Corners (AC) with the addition of AC Puerto Princesa hosted in partnership with Palawan State University. Launched in June 2021, it is the first and only Corner on the island of Palawan, a central and strategic location for the U.S. and Philippines' partnership in management of environmental protection as well as domain awareness issues.
  • Established new partnerships with the Philippines' Department of Energy and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) through English Language skills programming.
  • In collaboration with the Regional English Language Office and the Philippines' Department of Education (DepEd), conducted a six-week virtual webinar training series on “Teaching Grammar Communicatively in the Philippines” for more than 3,700 DepEd teachers and supervisors, which also reached 3.7 million viewers on Facebook.
