I was born to two immigrant parents and became the fourth daughter. Growing up school was always our top priority. Throughout my school career into high school, I always joined after-school programs to further my ability to succeed. I was part of an early college program called ACE, in which on Saturdays I would go to college-level courses, and obtain my associate's degree.
The Ace program is a three-year commitment, in which high school students on Saturdays attend college classes. By the end of the program, students graduate with an associate's degree.
What Cross Country, track and field, and Weightlifting taught me was how to be a responsible leader. I would mentor and hold accountable my teammates, This taught me to manage time.
I was the president of the Avid club for two years. We volunteered in many events yet the main event we participated in was street clean-ups. We would collect trash on the school grounds and surrounding neighborhoods.
