PresentqPCR Gene Expression Project Oct 2025 - Present
• Designed and executed a qPCR experiment to measure how heat shock (42 °C) alters expression of dnaK, groEL, and housekeeping genes in E. coli using the ΔΔCt method.
• Prepared bacterial cultures, performed RNA extraction and cDNA synthesis, and ran SYBR Green qPCR in technical triplicates with appropriate controls to ensure data quality.
• Collaborated with a 4-person team to refine protocols, calculate fold-changes in gene expression, and document methods and results in a formal project report
Color Sorter Project May 2025 - Jun 2025
• Built an Arduino-controlled M&M color sorter using an RGB color sensor, stepper/servo motors, and a custom wheel to automatically separate candies into color-coded bins with low error rate.
• Collaborated with a 4-person team on mechanical design, electronics wiring/soldering, and iterative testing to reduce jams and improve throughput.
• Presented the final device and written report to course staff and classmates, explaining design decisions, performance metrics, and limitations.
Truss Design Project Mar 2025 - Apr 2025
•Building complex truss capable of holding 1.5kg using material analysis
• Developing MATLAB algorithm to analyze complex trusses, determine failure mechanisms
•Collaborating with team of four to create and code truss design
