Coagulation: Use of Coag A Mate II to test samples for PT, PTT & Fibrinogen. Use of Vidas for testing D. Dimer samples. Use of Systex CA500 as backup instrument.
Urine Analysis: Use of Clinitek Advantus for Urine Analysis. Confirmation for protein and bilirubin presence performed manually.
Chemistry: Use of RXL Max, Expand and ACS for analysis of specimens. Drug screens performed on Expand. In charge of daily and weekly maintenance of RXL Max.
Blood bank: tube method for type, screen, x-match, anti-body ID, and DAT analysis. Also, responsible for slitting units, de-frosting FFP and ordering Platelets when needed. Use of Hemocare for recording results.
Microbiology: responsible for set up of urine, sputum, feces, wound, and other cultures. Also responsible for gram staining, ID of positive blood cultures and Rapid Strep testing as well as Mono testing.
