Work History

Project Manager

Promise for Relief and Human Development
05.2011 - 12.2017
  • Spearheaded multiple humanitarian projects including three mission trips to Jordan/Syria by planning projects according to needs, fundraising over $60,000 from American communities for each trip, and traveling internationally to execute such projects. Trips included analyzing needs on the ground, working with vendors, and distributing supplies directly.
  • Led the “Cold Hands, Warm Hearts” Project which consisted of 15 individuals live streaming ourselves wearing shorts/t-shirts outside on the coldest day of the year in Chicago. The goal of the project was to educate the public on the conditions Syrian refugees were facing as winter storms hit refugee camps in Lebanon. We stayed outside until raising $120,000 and went on to travel to Lebanon to directly distribute help in the form of jackets, blankets, heaters, tents, and food.
  • Drafted project proposals and grant agreements in accordance with corporation bylaws, planned events and fundraised, partnered with other non-profits on regional projects.
  • Produced multiple short films with the purpose of both spreading awareness and illustrating the benefits of specific forms of humanitarian aid.
  • Worked as a field nurse in a Jordanian hospital dedicated to Syrian refugees suffering from traumatic injuries.
  • Presented at multiple events in various Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Valparaiso University, and Indiana University, about the humanitarian situation in Syria and how individuals could go about helping.
  • Presented at the Valparaiso University Institute for Leadership and Service conference regarding my personal experiences working with Syrian refugees and various methods of delivering humanitarian aid.
