Responsibilities

1. Staff Management

• Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Schedule shifts and assign duties to ensure adequate coverage.

• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

• Address conflicts or concerns among staff members.

2. Patient Care Oversight

• Monitor the quality of patient care and address any issues or deficiencies.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

3. Administrative Duties

• Maintain accurate records, including staffing, patient care, and incident reports.

• Develop and implement policies to improve workflow and patient outcomes.

• Handle budgeting, inventory, and procurement for nursing supplies.

4. Training and Development

• Mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance their skills and professional growth. Organize training sessions and ensure continuing education requirements are met.

• Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs

• Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, wound care, monitors vital
• Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation
• Instructs and educates patients and families
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
• Provides age and culturally appropriate care
• Orients and mentors new staff members
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications before administration
• Evaluates and measures the effectiveness of the nursing care base on patient outcomes
