Yashu Wang

I am a motivated and dedicated undergraduate student majoring in Linguistics. With a strong academic background, including over 6 upper-division coursework of 5 units and Full GPA, I have developed a fairly solid foundation in pure Linguistics. My experience as a leader in student organizations, including serving as Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Student Union, has honed my skills in communication, finance management, event coordination, and team collaboration. I am passionate about student affairs and higher education, with a particular interest in supporting my peers’ academic and personal success. Through volunteer work as a Chinese language instructor and tutoring experience, I have demonstrated my ability to guide and mentor students while fostering a positive, inclusive environment.

  Managed financial records and budgets for Student Union activities, ensuring transparency and efficient allocation of resources.
  Assisted with the coordination and documentation of meetings, ensuring accurate and timely records were kept.
  Contributed to the development of policies to improve the efficiency of student-run activities.
• Vice President:
  Led efforts in establishing and maintaining connections with other schools, fostering collaborative events, and enhancing inter-school relations.
  Coordinated and executed student events, working with external organizations and peers to create valuable partnerships.
  Assisted the President in overseeing the operations of the Student Union, ensuring all activities were aligned with the union’s goals.
• President:
  Directed and oversaw all Student Union operations, setting the strategic direction and ensuring the fulfillment of the union’s mission.
  Led initiatives to improve student engagement, including organizing large-scale events and advocating for student interests within the school.
  Worked closely with faculty and administration to implement student ideas and drive positive changes within the school community.

Initiated & led the reform of all academic clubs. Reset policies to solve the shortage of support resources for academic clubs.

Tutored participants in the homework of From Shakespeare to Broadway class.
