- Natural Language Processing for Teaching and Research in Engineering Education (Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Transformers, NLTK, R)
- Leading project on using transformer-based NLP techniques to qualitatively analyze 50 000 sentences of student end-of-exam reflections for instances of self-regulated learning (SRL), metacognition, and motivation
- Tasks include data cleaning, testing different clustering techniques (agglomerative, K-means, DBSCAN), dimension reduction (PCA UMAP), sentence embeddings (transformers), qualitative thematic analysis (traditional, zero-shot), and presenting results
- Achieving accuracy in labelling of between 85-90% for different post exam reflections

- Using machine learning to predict whether a shot will result in a goal (Pandas, Scikit-Learn, matplotlib, TensorFlow/Keras)
- Lead project team in using a dataset containing 900,000 events from soccer leagues across Europe to predict whether a shot would lead to a goal using different machine learning architectures
- Architectures used include decision trees, random forest, multi-layer perceptron, and support vector machines
- Comparing and optimizing the different models by testing parameters and making use of feature selection
- Tested different balancing techniques including class-weight and oversampling
- The optimized model achieved an accuracy score of 75% for goal prediction
- Compiled report in order communicate findings to a general audience
