Conducted research in the Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center on the role of transcription factor co-activator PGC1-alpha function on skeletal muscle adaptation and insulin sensitivity. The aim of the study was to gain an improved understanding of the signaling pathway in adult skeletal muscle to facilitate the development of new interventions for medical conditions, such as heart failure, cachexia and type-2 diabetes.
