- Work with the Forest Preserves of Cook County (FPCC)
- To better align the Cook County Forest Preserve District's model flying fields with the department's overall mission, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) capstone project team recommended a a multi-pronged approach that includes consolidation through the closure of four of the nine flying fields and updating the facilities at the other two fields.
- A quantitative survey using Qualtrics was sent to local model flying clubs utilizing lists of club leaders and permit holders provided by FPCC. The goal of the survey was to assess where flying field users were from, their self-reported utilization of the fields, general demographic information, and openness toward a possible fee.
- Convert survey results into data and analyze the data.
