I received the president's volunteer service award bronze level in May 2025 in recognition of my community service. I served as a teacher assistant at a Korean Language school in Irvine and I supported younger students in developing in their Korean literacy and speaking. I assisted teachers with guiding small group reading and writing activities, and provided individual support to students who needed additional help. Also I had the opportunity to speak in the Washington DC on behalf of North Koreans and meet the member of Parliament and talk to them. I advocated for greater awareness of human rights issues and the realities of North Korean citizens. Through this volunteering, I engaged in meaningful dialogue about freedom and the importance of protecting fundamental human rights. I represented voices of those who can't freely speak for themselves with profound responsibility. These volunteering experiences reflect my dedication to education and human rights advocacy at both local and national levels.
