I work as a Registered Nurse at Saint Francis Progressive Care Unit. My responsibilities included providing direct patient care with daily assessments, nightly medication, drew morning blood labs to monitor electrolytes and blood count, and monitoring hourly vital signs for changes. I also provided education on new medications and game plans for the night. Updated families about their loved one before they left for the night. I documented every shift. Ensured my patients and their families had emotional support and advocated for their needs. Included families and patients in the plan of care. I also helped with admissions and transfers. Collaborated with doctors and nightly coworkers. I critically think during assessments and problem solve. Help during intubations or when patient need more critical assistances.

• I worked as a Nurse Tech for two years on a pediatric oncology floor before I became a Registered Nurse. My responsibilities as a tech were to obtain vital signs every 4 hours and report any changes to the nurses. Provide comfort and support to the kids during hard times. We played games and did activities when we were able to. Provide snacks and drinks for both patients and their families. Ensuring the environment and patient were clean. Assisting nurses with anything within my scope. Document intake and output. Report any change of behavior to the nurses. Completed tasks assigned to me by the nurses.
