Seminar on Statistical Data Science Research in Public Health and Biomedicine

• Facilitated by R. Todd Oden, a biostatistics professor from Columbia University, the workshop was organized to provide expert guidance.
• The selected topic was the impact of smoking cessation on lung cancer. Public Health Data was utilized as the data resource, and thorough data analysis was conducted using the statistical software R.
• The research focused on exploring the direct association between smoking cessation and lung cancer by utilizing public health data. Key data, including smoking history, level of smoking cessation, and severity of lung cancer, were collected. Through the analysis of a large-scale data sample, the potential influence of smoking cessation on lung cancer occurrence was revealed.
• A written report was ultimately submitted, and the findings were presented.
