  • Investigated the insect diversity found in Qomolangma Feng National Nature Reserve, China in 2023 summer; conducted extensive field observations from 2000m to 4500m, resulting in the collection of over 300 arthropod species; identified and documented three new species and contributed more than five new records for China.

Insect identification for other projects

  • Helped identify and verify ground beetle specimens from the synoptic research collection of Dr. J.S. Yaninek at Purdue University, Department of Entomology in 2022 fall, warranting acknowledgement when the results get published.
  • Identified insects in the family Carabidae from the Qilian Reserve, China sponsored by the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2023 spring.
  • Identified insects in the family Carabidae from Tiantangzhai Reserve, China in 2023 summer: sponsored by Anhui University and Central China Normal University as a part of their project of Biodiversity along Elevational Gradients (BEST).

Scientific outreach

  • Gave a lecture about Carabidae identification and collecting technique, sponsored by the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute.

Volunteering

  • Identified and curated Carabidae specimens in the Purdue Entomological Research Collection in 2022; corrected many misidentified specimens.
  • Presented displayed insects as a volunteered for the Purdue Entomology Bug Bowl outreach program in the spring of 2022 and 2023.
