I'm a hard worker and very professional when it comes to my job in this field. I think working safely is the number one priority, and working together as a team makes it all better. I've learned a lot since I started in Pike. In just nine months, I became a foreman from streetlight, and I don't want to ever stop learning within this field. I love what I do, and I just want to keep growing. Before joining Pike, I worked for eight years in the cruise industry. I really wanted to find stability within my job and to be home for my family, and this job that I love gives me that. I wake up extremely happy every day to make it to work and to do what I love.
When you love what you do, your job becomes part of your lifestyle. I've been with Pike for a year; I started as a ground man and became a foreman for street lights in just nine months. In one year, I never missed one day or have been late to work. We install light poles, we do digging operations, and we locate all utilities to make sure we are safe to work on our plan for the day. Also, we install all lights. We run the cable to the transformers. Sometimes, we help our underground team do conversations from overhead to underground. The way I see what I do is like a career, and I want to learn as much as I can about it and grow within this field of work. I love what I do.
