Summary

My social experience and maturity allow me to work with discipline and independence, while my general knowledge and physical-mathematical skills can be a strength for working in a multidisciplinary team.

The variety of jobs or fields of performance that I had in Cuba responds to historical-concrete reasons, and although in reality my desired professional career is in the aerospace field, I consider myself capable of performing well in other fields such as: manufacturing, robotics, mathematical modeling and simulation, programming with Matlab, mathematical flight simulation, flight data analysis (FDA), use of CAD-CAE-CAM tools, and as a professor of basic and applied sciences.

I have my Permanent Residence of the United States; I have a driver's license; and my police record is clean. I am available to work both inside and outside the State of Nevada.

Work History

Maintenance Supervisor

US Pharmatech Inc
04.2024 - Current
  • I have prepared project documents to manufacture mechanical parts through hiring with other local companies. With this, I have contributed to expanding alliances with American companies, breaking the scheme of just negotiating with Chinese and Korean companies.
  • I have been solving several technical problems of productive machines, which have saved tens of thousands of dollars in devices, machines and productive lines.
  • Reduced downtime by quickly diagnosing and repairing issues with machinery, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Increased productivity by reducing downtime, budgeting effectively, allocating tasks, and maintaining high standards of safety and work quality.
  • Coordinated preventative maintenance schedules, verifying equipment safety and function.
  • Supervised a team of technicians, providing guidance on complex repair tasks and fostering professional development opportunities.

University Professor of Fluid Mechanics

"Marta Abreu" Central University Of Las Villas
02.2022 - 07.2022
  • Developed innovative teaching methods to adapt to diverse learning styles, resulting in improved student engagement and participation.
  • I made appreciable theoretical and practical contributions to the development of low-power, vertical-axis wind turbines, which constitute a green energy project for use in cities.

University Professor of Theoretical Mechanics

Technological University Of Havana
02.2020 - 01.2022
  • Enhanced student comprehension by incorporating real-world examples and case studies into lectures.
  • I managed to introduce vector-matrix analysis in the Theoretical Mechanics subject, which had a very favorable impact on developing the students' ability to solve complex three-dimensional problems in the face of automation and industrial robotics.

Mechatronics Engineer

Havana Meteorological Institute
02.2020 - 01.2022
  • I designed and developed the manufacturing technology of a waveguide for a data reception station from the GOES-16 meteorological satellite. This satellite reception station is currently in service, promoting the development of weather forecasting and applied research.
  • I carried out the conceptual design of software for remote management of data from all automatic weather stations throughout the country. This software managed to be completed and put into service, all of which made it possible to increase the quality of preventive maintenance of automatic weather stations.

Scientific Advisor

Ministry Of Energy And Mines
02.2019 - 01.2020
  • I contributed ideas for the establishment of a strategy for using drones for the inspection of high-voltage power lines and towers throughout the country. The implementation of this strategy, although it was based on a strong economic investment, demonstrated its operational viability in the early identification of damage after extreme weather events.

Investor

Real State
10.2018 - 01.2019
  • At this time, I worked as an investor in a mega-construction project of multifamily buildings. To track the physical progress of the project, I developed software for processing images taken from inside (manually) and from outside (using a drone). With this software, it was possible to accurately monitor resource consumption and compliance with execution deadlines.

Scientist Project Lead

Geo-Science R&D Center
09.2016 - 03.2018
  • I held the direction of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Technology Development Group, and I was the founder of the "GeoUAV" Project with State financing.
  • I optimized research processes by implementing innovative methodologies (aerial surveying with a fixed-wing UAV) and reducing project deadlines.
  • Promoted a safe working environment by enforcing strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
  • I developed software for Flight Data Analysis (FDA) of UAVs to allow post-flight evaluation of both the drone and the operators, thus achieving early identification of failures and the prevention of air accidents.

Scientist Project Lead

Naval R&D Center
09.2011 - 08.2016
  • I was responsible for the aero-mechanical discipline in a project for the development of high-speed flying devices, specializing in aerodynamic identification and mathematical modeling of the flight dynamics of these devices.
  • My work on the establishment of plant models (system transfer functions) allowed the analysis and synthesis of the automatic control system (autopilot).
  • I designed and manufactured the next: 1- Facilities for the experimental identification (input-output functions) of autopilots. 2- Assembly, alignment and welding facilities for missile structures. 3- Semi-destructive testing facilities.
  • For the analysis of performance, as well as stability and control, I developed a remote-controlled flight simulator (6DoF), with which timely predictions were obtained for the development of the project.
  • The contributions that were made to the project under my direction and direct work allowed successful experimental launches in a relatively short time, thus reducing budget expenses and the scientific maturation of the productive force.

University Professor

"José Martí" Military Technical Institute
09.2003 - 08.2011
  • I was a professor of several undergraduate subjects: Higher Mathematics, Aerodynamics, Flight Dynamics and Theoretical Mechanics.
  • I was a professor of postgraduate subjects, among which the following stood out: Programming in Matlab and Computer Aided Design (CAD) with Autodesk Inventor.
  • As a professor, I instilled in the students scientific thinking and the use of computing tools such as Matlab - CAD - CAE - CAM, which were introduced as study materials during my classes.
  • During this period, I completed my PhD career and contributed to the training of master's degrees and PhDs in technical sciences.
  • After completing my PhD career, I was part of the academic committee for scientific degrees, and I had considerable participation in the thesis committees for the degree of doctor in technical sciences.
