SUPERVISE FIRE GUARD

A Fire and Life Safety Director (FLSD) has many responsibilities, including:

• Fire safety plans : Create and implement fire and life safety plans for the building
• Evacuation plans : Create evacuation plans and routes for the building
• Fire drills : Conduct fire drills to ensure occupants are prepared for emergencies
• Fire safety equipment : Maintain and upgrade fire safety equipment, including suppression systems, alarms, and evacuation infrastructure
• Fire safety training : Train others in fire safety protocols and supervise any other safety staff
• Fire codes : Ensure that all buildings under their care are up to the most current fire codes
• Fire alarm control panel : Operate the fire alarm control panel (FACP) at the lobby Fire Command Center (FCC)
• Fire department liaison : Liaise with the fire department upon their arrival
• Fire inspections : Inspect grounds, buildings, and other infrastructure to detect fire hazards
• Safety standards : Enforce client safety standards and local regulations
• Alarms and disturbances : Answer alarms and investigate disturbances

FSD are required in any commercial building that requires a Comprehensive Fire Safety and Emergency Action Plan.
