Produced electronic dance music (trance and house) for five years and expanded to hip-hop production.
Mixed and mastered a hip-hop artist’s album, delivering professional-quality tracks.
Mixed audio for elementary school graduation performances for three years.
Lead DJ for high school events, managing warm-up and mainstage performances.
Backstage sound engineer, fine-tuning audio for optimal live sound delivery.
Conducted modal analysis, directivity measurement, and frequency response analysis of the Konghou, a classical Chinese instrument. Developed a framework to apply scientific methods to analyze timbre and structure quality.
Investigated frequency response differences between headphones of varying price points using a Head and Torso Simulator (HATS). Equalized, recorded, and analyzed output using MATLAB, highlighting frequency response’s role in sound quality.
Designed and built a 5-inch two-way speaker under the guidance of electroacoustic engineers. Gained hands-on experience in hardware selection and enclosure design.
Represented an electroacoustic company, introducing products like microphones and speakers to customers. Explored groundbreaking innovations like immersive audio technology. Learned market trends through customer interactions and industry analysis.
Took two online open courses through Coursera: Fundamentals of Audio and Music Engineering by University of Rochester and the Technology of Music Production by Berklee College of Music.
Research Assistant in the Psycholinguistics Lab (Ferreira). Helped run experiments on sentence processing, prosody, and disfluency using eye-tracking and ERP methods. Assisted with participant sessions, stimulus preparation and data processing.
Research Assistant in Social Inference Lab. Contribute to research on
perspective taking, social categorization, and cognitive biases in intergroup contexts. Assist with experimental design implementation, data collection, participant management, and data processing.
Conducted a guided-based study on Casimir energy, examining how quantum vacuum fluctuations give rise to measurable forces between conducting boundaries.
Developing a MATLAB-based audio sampler with a graphical user interface modeled after modern digital samplers. The program supports loading and managing at least nine audio files, with user-controlled waveform chopping (custom start/end time), volume adjustment, reverse playback, variable speed control, delay effects, and frequency modification. Implemented a pure tone generator with adjustable parameters and real-time waveform visualization. Extended features include ADSR envelope shaping, pitch shifting without altering playback speed, real-time spectrum visualization, and FM/AM synthesis.
