Work History

Operations Supervisor

DHL Hormel, Dayton Ohio
08.2023 - Current
  • During my time as an Operations Supervisor with Hormel Dayton, I have learned very much and have been able to develop my leadership skills, people skills, and defining managerial characteristics that are sought after by many.
  • I have successfully led cross training on the shift which has developed My team and enabled Us to surpass key KPI’s in our network such as CPH, (Cases per Hour), and monthly ELS standards.
  • I have maintained strict safety standards, completing BBS Observations, Identifying hazards and near misses as well as holding those accountable for unsafe actions or conditions which has helped lead to over 900 consecutive days and counting without a recordable injury.
  • I have completed Supervisory Academy with DHL which has taught my key skills needed to be successful such as “Empathetic Listening” and have created a relationship with each associate. This has built trust between Myself and My team and my associates feel comfortable approaching me when help is needed.
  • I have volunteered for many site support opportunities and Start-Up sites to further my knowledge and offer help wherever needed. They are as follows. Energizer-Monroe site support in Monroe Ohio, Mars pet Care site support in Arora Nebraska, Fontanini site support in Chicago Illinois. During my time at the Fontanini site, I was able to work with Management from our sister site Osceola. With this, Teams from Dayton and Osceola were able to implement changes that positively impacted the Fontanini site and allowed the site to more effectively manage outbound volume. Some of these changes include using “Stager Bays” to pick and stage outbound orders prior to ship date.
  • The DHL Start-Up site supports are as follows, Hormel-Salt Lake City where I was able to coach, train, and give guidance to the Salt Lake City management team and site associates. Major focus was given to site safety, BBS observations, Hazards/ Near misses, and working with the site management in these areas.
  • DHL Start-Up Memphis Tennessee. During my time in Memphis, I was tasked with training site leader OM’s and OS’s on key KPI’s, BBS metrics, day to day operational needs, coordinate daily staffing needs, LSW’s, coordinate and train hourly/salary associates on receiving/loading processes. I was also able to share vital information with the Memphis Management team such as creating “Shift Update” forms and “Tactical Review” forms. During my time I also setup all leads/taskers with their Hormel accounts as well as AS400 logon information. While completing these, I also worked with various site support teams to assign help where needed. In addition, I maintained support of the Dayton Hormel site completing Safety KPI’s such as BBS observations, Hazard and near miss requirements, accurately tracking overtime hours and payroll hours for the Dayton team involved in the Memphis Start-Up.
  • Oversaw daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational protocols.
  • Managed workforce scheduling to optimize resource allocation and meet production demands.
  • Monitored key performance indicators, identifying trends to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Reduced employee turnover by fostering a positive work environment and addressing employee concerns promptly.
