I am a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of St Thomas seeking a degree in engineering. I am majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in Catholic Studies. I am interested in all aspects of mechanical engineering, from the design to production of parts that will change the future. In my spare time, I like to read, play sports and 3D print. One of the things that interests me about the future of engineering is the rapid advancement of additive manufacturing processes in not only the prototyping, but final production of goods. I have spent over 5 years working with FDM style printers, as well as conventional manufacturing methods (Mill, lathe, CNC), and am curious to work with other styles such as SLA, SLM and Material-Jetting. One of the reasons I am interested in this sector is because of my hobby for 3d modeling. Over the Past 7 years, I have had the opportunity to work with software such as Autodesk, Solidworks, and Ansys, which have allowed me to take my ideas and turn them into real world objects.
