Eighteen bed post-anesthesia care unit supporting inpatient and outpatient OR, cath-lab, GI lab, non-invasive cardiology, and interventional radiology, where we perform Phase I and Phase II nursing care.

• Providing immediate post procedure care by assessing and managing airway, monitoring vital signs, and safely providing pain control as patient comes out of anesthesia.
• Anticipate and manage patients needs to prevent critical situations
• Provide and explain post procedure instructions and/or new medications to patient and family when discharging from PACU.
• Able to adapt my approach to care to suit a specific patients physical and/or emotional needs.
• Anticipate needs of my co-workers and willing to help when available.

Residency Program and 2+ years on fast paced, Cardiovascular Telemetry Floor with a 1:6 nurse to patient ratio.

• Developed and implemented care plans by working with the interdisciplinary teams.
• Educating patient and family in specified post hospital stay care to provide patient safety and prevent hospital readmission.

Float PCA

• Recorded vital signs and blood sugars for RNs, and reported changes in vitals or status to nursing staff.
• Assisted patients on various units with activities of daily living
• Improved patient comfort by performing oral hygiene, baths, and prompt response to assistance requests.
