Materials science laboratory where we conduct research on soft cell nanotechnology and dynamic self assembling polymers. Past and current projects include artificial membrane catalysis using pH sensitive enzymes and advanced synthesis of self-immolating polymers for space apparatus in collaboration with the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA).

• Conduct research on disease mechanism by employing data mining techniques using supercomputer systems. We can then use the data to compare how messenger RNA (mRNA) adjusts in response to disease. We can then perform genomic analysis to exploit potentially defects in the virus or bacteria for pharmacological use. The ultimate goal of our research is to improve our understanding of varying diseases methodology and further, how we can augment and prime the immune system for disease to improve human health. Current projects include investigating the effects of second-hand-smoke on post-translational mRNA modifications in mice and their ultimate effects on metabolism and insulin resistance.
  

Lead medical assistant in a free clinic for populations of those severely impoverished primarily those with immigrant status. Oversee the day to day operations of the clinical support staff consisting of volunteer patient technicians. Also worked in collaboration with physicians and advanced medical personnel to extrapolate patient information from surrounding hospitals to facilitate care.

EMT position within the emergency department of Intermountain Medical Center, the largest and busiest level one trauma center within the state of Utah. Frequented the most extreme of medical emergencies including critical traumas and cardiac events.

• Assisted in the management of acute care for both critical and non critical patients within the emergency room.
• Conducted patient interviews to gather health history, vital signs and information about current medical issues.
• Prepared treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Assessed patient conditions, implemented care plans and reassessed conditions continuously.

• Medical Assistant/EMT at the University of Utah Clinical Neuroscience Center where I primarily helped operate the ALS and muscular dystrophy clinics. Performed phlebotomy, injections and assisted with other procedures as designated by the clinic.

Volunteer while attending school at Sierra College. Assisted the fire department and the local EMS service as needed.

• Evaluated patients at accident scenes to screen, assess and treat significant injuries.
• Asked patients questions about over-the-counter medications, prescriptions and illicit drug activity to identify side effects or signs of overdose.
• Documented calls in reports detailing incident type and course of treatment.
• Performed standard testing and administered medication to manage care in field and in transit.
• Performed CPR and used cardiac defibrillator to revive patients in cardiac arrest or arrythmia.
