• Assisted in building/breaking down barges with the use of 35ft steel wires, straps, ratchets, mauls, toothpicks, cotton lines, radio communications and a positive attitude.
• Assisted in the training of newly hired deckhands to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Performed routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning decks, painting surfaces, checking oil levels, repairing equipment.
• Maintained a safe working environment on board by conducting daily inspections and monitoring the crew’s adherence to safety protocols.
