Summary

Motivation, determination, and creativity are valuable skills that cannot be taught. What I may lack in age and experience, I make up for in a tremendous amount of passion for high school athletics. I have spent years shadowing a very well-respected athletic director, Mr. Terry Hessbrook, and have learned so much in my first-hand experiences with him. I have inexplicable drive to build a phenomenal athletic program that both unites a town, and provides as many students as possible the opportunity to compete at the next level and earn a college degree.

Athletic Director Intern

  • For nearly two years, I have assisted Mr. Terry Hessbrook, in his daily obligations and tasks as athletic director and assistant principal at Ithaca Jr./Sr. High School.
  • I have observed and been part of monthly meetings with fellow athletic directors in the Tri-Valley Conference.
  • Assisted in creating game schedules for varsity, junior varsity, and middle school sports. I also helped manage and confirm that there were no mistakes in the scheduling of practice times, locations, and bussing, if needed.
  • Monitored student-athlete academic progress and ensured, on a weekly basis, that they were eligible to compete; if any issues arose, I made sure that communication was prompted between students, coaches, and teachers.
  • Supervised athletic events that took place at Ithaca High School helped manage the game day atmosphere and ensured that everything ran smoothly for those events.
  • Observed Mr. Terry Hessbrook in managing the budget for individual sports and delegating money to the needs of those respective teams (uniforms, sport-specific equipment, balls, etc.).
  • Assisted in the day-to-day tasks of the athletic office, such as preparing awards for events we hosted, supervising equipment handout and turn-in, and scheduling duties.
  • As an educational studies major, I have had numerous experiences in the classroom and teaching, both in general and special education classrooms.

  • Promoting and volunteering at youth football camps benefitting both the B#4 Foundation and Jesus+Football.
