Looking to start a career in trades to do the work that nobody else wants to do, and be part of a team that creates something bigger than ourselves, and can come home at the end of the day proud of what I've accomplished.
*I started working with my uncle Dean doing, Basketball courts, Stages, Dance studio floors, ETC. As a sub-contractor, this is where I got introduced into the trades and figured out I had a passion for it. I enjoy working with my hands and being part of something big, and being proud of the work I do.
*Typically when we arrive at a worksite the previous floor would have already been removed by a crew before us.
We'd start by cleaning the concrete so it would be free and clean of any larger debris.
*Depending on the type of floor, we would typically lay a vapor barrier to protect the wood from any moisture that could collect under the vapor barrier.
Then we would construct the subfloor and lay that straight across all boards gapped about the width of a quarter, then another layer at a 45 degree angle, also spaced about the width of a quarter. Every Board laid would get nailed straight to the subfloor before moving onto the next.
*finally we would lay out the final layer of whatever kind of flooring it is and install it to specifications.
*I got a head start with work experience before most of my peers when I turned 14.
*when I turned 15 I was put into training to become a manager at a young age.
*I learned excellent customer service.
*Kept Shop floor clean and organized tools.
*Preformed interior and exterior details on Cars that were entering and leaving the shop.
*Helped stock shelves with inventory.
