  • Enhanced worksite safety by conducting thorough equipment inspections, routine maintenance and wearing personal protective equipment such as, hard hat and high visibility vest.
  • Increased productivity by operating heavy machinery such as log loader/ excavators, front end loaders, and graders.
  • Collaborated with team members to complete complex projects, utilizing strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities to improve the log yard, scale yard, off load trucks, move logs and feed the mill with logs.
  • Operate a log loader w/ grapple (John Deere 2054,2154, and 2156) to sort the different log species, CAT 980G and M with grapples, and a CAT 988 with grapples. 980 is used to spread loads to scale and 988 is used to unload trucks and feed the mill with logs.
  • Identify log species and assess the wood to get an estimate amount of usable lumber in each log. This is all accomplished using the guidelines and rules of the National Forest Log Scaler Handbook and Idaho Board of Scaling Manual.
