Marine Machinery Mechanic (Helper to Worker) eager to show my ability to be a self starter and a mechanic that gets the job done right the first time with a questioning attitude. Experienced in steam plant valves and bearings, as well blue checks, lapping, boring machines, hand and power tools, PMI, and log keeping. Proficient in understanding TWD's, performing positive component identification, and Table Top Reviews. Received a C.O.R.E. reward for work on MS-12 and MS-13 seats on the John Warner, a NNSY first. As well as being nominated for 'Subs with Subs' by the Supervisor for showing initiative and leadership as such a new mechanic to the crew. Worked several of the highest priority jobs at the Shipyard such as the replacement of the stem on MS-26 on the Toledo and the removal and repair of GS-3/4 on the Toledo. Has a natural interest in understanding mechanical processes, such as refurbishing small engines by rebuilding carburetors, valve trains, camshafts, exhausts, brakes, spindles, tie rods, hubs, and much more outside of work. As well as doing maintenance on vehicles to keep them running smoothly.
